Helping You Achieve

Since struggling with anxiety, I found a passion within me to help other people as best as I could. I spent a lot of time, effort and money looking into methods that could help my anxiety and ways that I could get through life since the ‘normal’ way of doing things wasn’t on the cards for me. Thus Zortex’s tagline was born - Helping You Achieve.

Having support is a crucial part of overcoming life’s challenges. We are social beings and we aren’t supposed to figure everything out ourselves. That’s why we all have different talents and different abilities; so we can all work together and achieve things greater than any one person could. We aren’t all fortunate enough though to have people around us that can help us get over challenges. It’s a good job we have the internet though!

This is a space where I’ll share my personal experiences and advice that can hopefully be applicable in your life and help improve it in some way; whether you learn from my successes or my mistakes. There are so many parts of life that are important to me and since dealing with anxiety, I realised that I want it all. Many years were spent being able to do “normal” things and now, I am also trying to achieve my dreams. We can go on this journey together. Whether you want to become a famous singer or you want to run your own business, or you want to live a healthier lifestyle, this is the place for you.

Plenty of my previous blog posts cover the topic of anxiety as well as some business advice. We all deal with anxiety on some level so there should be some that you may find useful and if not, then hopefully some of the upcoming content will be for you. But for now, let’s start with what you want to achieve.

Imagine yourself ten or twenty years from now and have a go at answering these questions.

  1. What are your three biggest achievements?

  2. Where are you living?

  3. Who are you surrounded by?

  4. What does your day to day life look like?

Without the pressure of “how” we get there, we can be truly honest with ourselves about what we want. For a long time, I thought I wanted to work in technology or with training horses (I know those are two pretty different things but it was true nonetheless). However, asking myself those kinds of questions, I realised that I wanted to be surrounded by horses but my biggest achievement would be writing books and having had a positive impact on people’s lives through my writing. That’s when things started to align and from that, I could prioritise.

So if you have the answers to the above questions, take a look at what your life looks like now. Is there room for the dream? Are you already living it? If not, the journey starts now. In an ideal world, you would know what you need to do to start working towards the dream. For me, I went back to writing my next book and making sure that I dedicate time for it every week rather than prioritising everything else. If you’re not too sure where to start, don’t worry.

Let’s take an example of wanting to train animals but not having any animals. You would first look at how you could incorporate them in your life. Volunteering would be a good place, either at a rescue centre, or a training centre. From there, you could look into gaining qualifications or any places locally that would help you get experience with it. Once you're introduced into the community, you will start building contacts and be able to navigate the next step from there.

We will never be able to see a full step by step plan to achieving our dreams, until we are looking back on how we got there. What’s important is focusing on the immediate step ahead. That’s all you need to see for now and make that one step. The next one should come naturally.

You can achieve your dreams. We all can. They are our dreams for a reason and we don’t need to give up because we grow up. Age really doesn’t matter.
